2009 - Bronze Premier's Award of Excellence | The 2Learn.ca Education Society, as part of the organizing committee for the 2008 Elevate: Reaching New Heights in Videoconferencing Conference received a bronze award. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to excellence and client service, as well as commitment to public service. |
2007 - ASCD Innovative Practices Award | On June 7, 2007, the Edmonton Regional of the Alberta ASCD [Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development] recognized participants in the Ambassador Project with an Innovative Practices Award. The Ambassador Project, a joint project of the Parkland School District and the 2Learn.ca Education Society, was developed by Gr. 3 teachers teaching the new Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum. Students practiced the inquiry process as they explored culture and communities both near and far. Participants used video conferencing to connect students with each other and with outside experts, and as support for the development of professional learning communities. |
2007 - Ed-Media Outstanding Poster Award | The Ed-Media 2007 World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia and Telecommunications identified the 2Learn.ca Education Society as the recipient of the Ed-Media Outstanding Poster Award. This prestigious award presented June 28, 2007, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, recognizes the work of the 2Learn.ca Education Society's Provincial Videoconferencing Technology System to Support Education in Alberta. |
2004 - NSDC's Exemplary use of Technology for Staff Development | The National Staff Development Council (NSDC) identified the TELUS Learning Connection (TLC) as the 2004 recipient of NSDC's "Exemplary Use of Technology for Staff Development" award. This prestigious award was presented at the Council's international conference Dec. 7, 2004, at Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Founded in 1969, NSDC is the largest world-wide non-profit professional development association dedicated to improving schools and organizations through staff development. This award recognizes outstanding utilization of technology that contributes to the field of staff development. |

2003 - Imagine's New Spirit of Community | The TELUS Learning Connection (TLC) received a "New Spirit of Community" partnership award from Imagine, a national program established by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy dedicated to the promotion of public and corporate giving, volunteering and support for the community. Presented to the TLC in April 2003, the award is one of five given each year to recognize successful partnerships between Canadian businesses and charitable organizations and the benefits they produce within their respective communities. The TLC was extremely proud to receive this national award to celebrate our successful educational alliance. Imagine is Canada's national program to promote public and corporate giving, volunteering and support for the community. |
