CYBERPROJECTS

This year, the VCRLN has updated the look and feel of Cyberprojects and have revised the documents available to help with your cyberproject. These documents will be available to download in a variety of formats including .doc and .pdf.
What is a Cyberproject? It is like a recipe:
- Start with TWO OR MORE TEACHERS interested in working together on a common curricular unit. The teachers do NOT have to teach in the same school, subject, or even teach the same grade!e!
- Add VIDEOCONFERENCES for your students to take part in:
- Content Provider events bring in specialists to the classroom
- Point-to-Point Collaboratives connect the students to share their work and learn from each other
- Multi-Point Collaboratives are organized to connect many classes from around the province
- Mix TECHNOLOGIES for your students to enjoy, such as:
- online interactives
- Web 2.0 tools
- webconferencing (like Bridgit)
- interactive whiteboards
- movie-making applications
- audio applications for podcasts or radio plays
- Contact your REGIONAL LEAD to help you along the way and to help you complete the registration form
- DOCUMENT your process through journaling, pictures and video
- NETSPLORE to collaborate with your partner teacher
- BLEND TOGETHER and develop a unit.
- COMPLETE the registration form, submit to the VCRLN and recieve $500 or $1,000 for your time and efforts!
How do I find a teaching partner?
If you have a special teaching colleague at your school, in your community, or one that you have worked with in the past, why not create a Cyberproject with them? The students would love to connect with each other and work together on projects!
A BASIC Cyberproject requires that at least two teachers collaborate together for an end result.
A COMPLEX Cyberproject requires that at least three teachers collaborate together for an end result. Don’t forget… your Regional Lead may be named as a collaborating partner!
If you can’t think of a ‘special someone to share the event with, then contact your local Regional Lead or Jocelyn Littlefair. We will do our best to advertise on your behalf.
