SATIR Help!
Navigation

  • Use the menu bar to select your topic of choice.  The pull-down menus indicate sub-topics available under a topic. Click on the sub-topic and you will see the links displayed on the main page.
If there are no sub-topics, clicking on the topic itself, will give you the display of website links attached to that topic.
  • The links are displayed in sets of 10, with the most current addition always added to the TOP of the list.
  • The Page numbers which appear at the bottom of the list of the links indicates that there are more pages of links, each page with 10 links, to view.  Thus you can click between pages at your discretion.
  • Click on this logoSatir Ritas logoto take you back to the SATIR-RITAS main page.
Searching
  • SATIR Search Tool
    • If you prefer to view sites under any given topic alphabetically, rather than the way described above in our standard navigation practise, use this SATIR Search Tool. Simply pick your topic in the pull-down menu, and then click "search".
    • If you want to quickly narrow your search in SATIR, you can use the "search tool" to enter in a topic, and then use the "keyword" box to type in a term.   The results of the search will be displayed alphabetically by title of website. If your result are displayed as "0", try changing the keyword.
  • Search 2Learn.ca Resources
    • There are many great resources in 2Learn.ca for K-12 educators that could prove helpful to you as an administrator. This search tool pops up in a separate window in order to allow you to find and review 2Learn.ca resources without leaving the SATIR site.
    • To use the Search 2Learn.ca resources, follow the instructions on the page.
  • SATIR Search Engines Quick!
    • This tool allows you to search the 'NET quickly, by fast-tracking your request to each search engine database. The difference between going to the search engine site itself and entering in a term, or using our tool is that we have scripted this tool to bypass the first page of the search engine website. This tool quickly accesses the search engine results generator itself -- so you avoid the congestion of trying to access the search engine website with everyone else.
    • The SATIR Search Engines - Quick! also allows you to switch to any of the search engines in the pull-down menu, without having to re-type your entry -- saving you time and energy!
Submitting Sites to SATIR
  • Administrators are encouraged to contribute website links that would benefit colleagues.  Submitting a site is quick and easy using the suggest a site link at the bottom of each page within SATIR. [see below]  The sites submitted will be reviewed by a committee including an administrator and a digital librarian.  All legitimate suggestions will be approved and posted as soon as possible.
SATIR report a broken link
  • As you are aware, the 'Net and specific websites are in constant flux. Often, great websites change locations. In order to keep these websites and their URL's up-to date in our database, we have staff who continuously review our database for broken links. However, if you discover a link that does not work, it would be helpful to us if you filled in the report and sent it along. We deal with these reports immediately upon receipt! To report a broken link, click on the 'Link Problem' icon [see below] at the bottom of each page.
